Congratulations to the Mock Trial Team

The BHS Mock Trial Team went to the Civics First tournament last week at the New Britain Courthouse and advanced to the second round. Berlin's 4 teams competed all day on a civil case in which they assumed the roles of lawyers, witnesses, and time keepers. In preparation for this event, these students had to read and understand the 84 page case along with another 20-30 pages of rules and procedures. The purpose, passion, and pride of these students were demonstrated throughout this day and Mr. Jones, the club advisor, successfully prepared them for a challenging competition. The team now has to prepare for the next round which takes place in February.
