Work Based Learning

Work-Based Learning at BHS

Welcome to Berlin High School's Career Development and Work-Based Learning site.  We hope you find information that is both helpful in learning how to engage in career development as well as connect with work-based learning opportunities.

We believe that every student should benefit from the opportunity to identify strengths and interests, explore career options and corresponding pathways, and build a personalized secondary to post-secondary plan.   Work-Based Learning is an educational strategy that expands classroom learning by connecting learning to the world of work, otherwise called Career Connected Learning.  Career activities are provided for students through partnerships among educators, industry, business and community providers.  These experiences support the development of career readiness skills and exploration of pathways that are unique to a student's own passion and aptitude, engendering a sense of purpose and ultimately instilling a sense of pride.
