UConn ECE Withdarawal This is a reminder that the withdrawal deadline for UConn ECE Spring and Full Year courses is May 1. Please use this withdrawal form. Any student who has withdrawn from a Spring or Full Year course will need to complete this form by May 1 and submit it to School Counseling. We are now able to process these forms so the turnaround should be quick before final grades are due at the end of the year. If you have questions about whether or not a student is currently enrolled in a course, please reach out to Mrs. Meneo or the ECE office at [email protected].

2024 Visual Arts Exhibition Join the visual arts department for our 2024 district exhibition April 24-28 at the New Britain Museum of American Art. A special opening reception will take place at the museum on April 24 from 5PM-7PM, and the exhibition is free to view during regular museum hours April 25-28.

Ry of Light Challenge Ry of Light Challenge is this Friday, April 26. We challenge everyone to be someone's "Ry of Light" by promoting kindness, selflessness, acceptance, caring, and love. Please help us remember Ryan Lee by making someone feel happy! Be sure to post photos of how you and your friends accepted the challenge to social media using #Ryoflightchallenge so we can see all the things our community did to help MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Upbeat Meeting There will be an Upbeat meeting this Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 5:15-6:30 pm in the BHS cafeteria. Pizza is served at 5:15 pm. This meeting is open to all Upbeat members. If you are not a member of Upbeat yet but would like to join, please feel free to attend the meeting. Please contact Ms. Patel at [email protected] with any questions!

Animal Rescue Club The Animal Rescue Club will hold its last meeting of the school year on Thursday, May 2nd in room 2226. We are also looking for volunteers to help at the Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue with their Spring Clean-up. Please see Mrs. Smith for a permission slip and waiver form. If you have already visited the farm you do not need another waiver form.

Turtles Save Lives Help support a senior Capstone project and contribute to saving lives – purchase handmade crochet turtles and the money raised will be donated to the Yale New Haven Transplantation Center. Turtles will be available April 29 to May 1 before school and during lunch waves; payment can be made by cash, Venmo, or Cashapp. The topic of this Capstone project: “What does the future of the medical field look like with regenerative medicine?"

Krispy Kreme Donuts Who's craving delicious Krispy Kreme donuts? Place your orders by May 9 to support the Berlin FIRST Robotics team and donuts will be available for pick up on May 16. Did you know you can freeze donuts to enjoy later? Just put them in an airtight container and thaw when ready to eat. Another helpful hint -- a few seconds in the microwave refreshes Krispy Kreme donuts so that they taste like they just came off the assembly line.

Senior Cap & Gown Walkthrough at Elementary and Middle Schools Graduating seniors are able to participate in a cap & gown walkthrough on Thursday, June 6 at McGee Middle School and the elementary school they attended in Berlin (Griswold, Hubbard, or Willard). In order to participate, all seniors must submit the Google Form AND submit a completed permission slip. Permission slips for each school can be found on the wall outside of the Upbeat Room. Both the Google Form and permission slip must be submitted by May 31, 2024 to participate. Please contact Ms. Patel at [email protected] with any questions!

Students Enrolled in AP Gove NEXT School Year Students who signed up to take AP Government NEXT SCHOOL YEAR: Please check your school email for a field trip opportunity!
